In just 4 weeks, Beyonce’s fourth studio album 4 has been certified platinum by the RIAA. The album, released on June 28, debuted at the top spot of the Billboard 200 Album Chart; it then stayed at the #1 for a second consecutive week. Currently, the album holds the 4th spot on the chart.

The album features executive production by Beyonce, tracks written by Diane Warren and Frank Ocean, and includes songs “Countdown” and “Best Thing I Never Had”. Pick up your copy on iTunes, or the deluxe version at Target.

Beyonce shook things up Thursday night when she appeared on NBC’s Late Night with Jimmy Fallon. The singer sang her single “Best Thing I Never Had” while being backed up by The Roots. Together, Beyonce and The Roots gave the track a totally different sound in its instrumentation.

On Thursday, Beyonce sat down for an interview with the panel of ABC’s The View, and gave rousing performances for “1+1″ and “Best Thing I Never Had”.

During the interview, Beyonce talked about her new independent career, who she is as a person, and traveling on her year-long break. When asked about when she might want to have kids of her own, the singer explained: “One day, I think that’s something that God has to decide. Beyonce is asking her fans to be in the fan music video of “Best Thing I Never Had”. Make your dream come true by sharing your joyous wedding videos and photos, or even moments from a prom that you’d never forget! Share your videos on YouTube, and photos on Flickr, using the tag #BeyonceBestThing. The best ones will be featured on Beyonce’s official website, and will have the chance to be compiled into a music video.

The opportunity will last from now until August 12th with the plan of the video to be released later in the month. For video submissions, make sure the audio doesn’t last longer than 30 seconds for a better chance!

Kelly Rowland’s new album “Here I Am” was released earlier this week, and Beyonce joined other Destiny’s Child member Michelle Williams to celebrate it.
