Beyonce Knowles – American R&B singer, songwriter, actress, and inspiration to drag queens around the globe – has now revealed some of her mannerisms come from what she sees in drag performances.

New entertainment website ‘me-me-me.tv’ asked the ‘Irreplaceable’ star if she saw herself as a gay icon. She responded:

“I definitely hope so!

“I get a lot of my influences, a lot of my lingo, a lot of my mannerisms from watching the drag balls.

“It’s so over-the-top,� she says of the drag shows she’s experienced. “And I’m a frustrated drag queen! Absolutely! The more hair and the more lashes the better!�

Fashion leading-light Giorgio Armani has now chosen Beyonce to represent his new fragrance – ‘Emporio Armani Diamonds’, saying she represents “glamour and elegant good taste�.

Beyonce will be on The Oprah Winfrey Show on Tuesday, May 29!! Here’s a what her fanclub said:

Tune into The Oprah Winfrey Show: What’s Cool For Summer, on Tuesday, May 29th (check local listings) to see a special appearance by Beyonce. Oprah will also talk with Robin Thicke who will be on tour with Beyonce this summer.

There’s a rumor going around that Beyonce will be performing at the ‘07 BET Awards. I think that it IS possible seeing as she has no tour dates for the date of the awards, plus I don’t think that she’d NOT show up to an Award Show she’s been present to for so many times and being nominated so much this year! Also rumored to perform are Lil’ Mama, Mya F/ Lil’ Wayne, T-Pain & Young Joc, Lloyd, Diddy F/ Keyshia Cole, Robin Thicke, KELLY ROWLAND, Rihanna F/ Jay-Z, and MUCH more! Hopefully it is true because I’d love to see all of the people rumored to perform!

Beyoncé will be the face and voice of a new women’s fragrance - Emporio Armani Diamonds. She will appear in print ads and belt out a song inspired by “Diamonds Are a Girl’s Best Friend” in TV ads to promote the new addition to the Emporio range that will hit shelves in September.

Armani, who has known Beyoncé for seven years and attended her concert in Milan Thursday night (May 10, 2007), told WWD, “There is no one today who transcends music, film and fashion in the way that Beyoncé does. There really was only one choice.”

“Beyoncé is pure sensuality,” continued Armani. “She has that ability to mix it up: young and sexy or elegant and sophisticated, but always with incredible charisma and magnetism.”

Armani’s beauty licensee, L’Oréal, is banking on the new fragrance to refocus the Emporio fragrance business, particularly in the U.S.

Beyoncé Knowles has earlier promoted beauty products such as Tommy Hilfiger’s True Star, L’Oréal Paris’ Studio Line and Féria hair care.
