Beyonce Concerts Take Second Place to Family

In a time of Beyonce bombshells we’ve been receiving news updates on a daily basis. Whether it’s tickets to concerts, Jay-Z participating in Beyonce’s pregnancy diet, Beyonce’s “huge” loss on the Miami beachfront cabana she sold, or the fact that she recently announced her desire to have a big family, everyone is eating up the news about Beyonce Knowles. The revelation that rapper Jay-Z will be joining Beyonce on her diet was met with applause from fans. After all, the partially vegan high-energy regime would help him keep up with his pregnant partner’s various demands. The two have been spotted recently “dancing up a storm” according to observers, sometimes until well into the early hours of the morning.
The beachfront cabana story had the gossips frothing at the mouth, as Beyonce lost 75% of the original price of the Miami cabana. She paid $465,000 on the small structure in 2002, but in these trying financial times was forced to sell it for a mere $110,000 – a trifle for a megastar like Beyonce. The asking price was a modest $135,000, so perhaps she wasn’t too disappointed. It’s still a heck of an ask for a 190 square foot room with just a half bath and very little else!
Even before she’s birthed her first, Beyonce has already announced that she plans to have a big family. “I have always said that I want to have all my children by the time I am 40,” the 30-year old singer said. That leaves 10 years for her to produce her full quota, so who knows how many kids the R&B diva will have!
Once Beyonce has given birth, the big question is how long will it be before we get to see another Beyonce concert tour? The superstar, who has appeared in film and on stage, including Austin Powers in Goldmember (2002) and Dreamgirls (2006), as well as a string of hugely successful tours like “The Beyonce Experience”, the “I AmÖ Tour” and her earlier “Dangerously in Love Tour”, from 2003.

Last night, after her jaw-dropping performance, including the equally exciting reveal, Beyonce returned to her dressing room backstage at the Nokia Theatre to well-wishes, hugs, and celebration. “I’m free!” the expectant star said to the room of friends and family, “We’re all free!” Best friends and Destiny’s Child band mates Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams were also present in the dressing room to share in the joy. When husband Jay-Z joined the party, with Kanye West asking “Where is Beyonce?,” the noise from the room was filled with more congratulations and hugs. “That was an eventful night, to say the least,” Jay said when he returned from the room to the hallway.

Best friend Kelly Rowland gave a comment to E! News about Beyonce’s upcoming role as a mother: “I think she’ll be an incredible mother,” Rowland told us at the House of Hype’s post-VMAs party at the SLS hotel. “She’s always been motherly. I think that takes after so many traits from her mother [Tina Knowles]. I just think it’s going to be so natural for her. It’s natural for her now. I can’t believe this to this day.”

Beyonce was also the most talked about person on Twitter for the night, with the trend “BEYONCE IS PREGNANT” being seen worldwide. MTV’s VMA tracker noted that Beyonce had a total of 280,000 tweets Sunday night.

Celebrities are also nothing short of happy for the married couple and their baby to be. Ellen Degeneres, Pink, LeToya Luckett, Kim Kardashian, and Chris Brown all took to Twitter to share congrats.

Beyonce also covers the Monday issue of the New York Post with the simple headline, “Beyoncé pregnant”.

Also, at Lil’ Wayne’s album release party, website Necole Bitchie asked celebrities Christina Millian, Jessie J, and J Cole what they thought of the news, and every comment was full of happiness.

Beyonce gave a rousing performance of “Love on Top” tonight at the 2011 MTV Video Music Awards. Before she began to sing, Beyonce gave a spoken intro ending with: “I want you to feel the love that’s growing inside of me!” The 29-year old pregnant singer performed the 4 track with joy in a Jackson 5-styled theme complete with sequined blazers and mic stands. After her powerful performance, Beyonce unbuttoned her blazer and posed happily with her arms around her stomach. Meanwhile, husband Jay-Z and friend Kanye West were nothing short of proud/excited, while Jo Calderone (Lady Gaga) waved in happiness.

Beyonce to Perform for Michael Jackson Tribute concert

In October, Beyonce will be among those who will perform in honor of Michael Jackson. The superstar will perform via satellite on the “Michael Forever: Tribute Concert” event. She is set to perform one of her favorite Jackson 5 songs in a “unique, never-before-seen performance.” In an official statement regarding Beyonce’s inability to be at the event in-person: “A lifelong Michael fan, Beyoncé really wanted to be involved in this tribute concert … Due to scheduling issues she can’t be there in person, but this performance is not to be missed!”

The concert, sanctioned by Katherine Jackson, is set to be held in Cardiff, Wales on October 8. Other performs include members of the Jackson family, Christina Aguilera, Leona Lewis, and Smokey Robinson. Beyonce has always cited Michael Jackson as the reason why she is an artist; calling him her “hero.”
