Beyoncé is planning to switch musical direction on her third solo album.

The singer is reportedly prepared to ditch her usual heavy R’n'B for a more dancefloor-orientated LP.

The former Destiny’s Child star has hired Brighton dance act Freemasons to work on some tracks for the record.

Freemasons’ James Wiltshire told the Daily Star: “The album is going to be huge.

“It will rival anything the likes of Britney and Rihanna have done recently. Beyoncé and her team can see where mistakes were made on the last album.

“It was very American, very R’n'B and stripped back. They want to go for a more international sound this time.”

Laying a foundation for the growth and development of children in an atmosphere of peace and compassion is a basic requirement for all societies, says Deputy Prime Minister Libertina Amathila.

Amathila was addressing students from the Cosmos and Delta high schools in Windhoek this week during a visit by the organiser of the first World Peace Tour Concert, to be hosted in Namibia on April 22 next year.

She said Government applauds the decision of the organisers to select Namibia as the first venue for such an important global music endeavour.

Music legends such as Whitney Houston, Beyoncé, Cool and the Gang, Peabo Bryson and Celine Dion are expected to perform alongside popular and upcoming local artists.

“We believe as Government that the concert will contribute toward spreading the message of peace, compassion and hope for children who are less privileged in the world, and who need social understanding and help to realise their full human potential,”

Amadhila said.

Amadhila added that Namibia was an appropriate venue for the concert because of its stable, peaceful, friendly and democratic environment.

“We are mindful of the extensive international attention this concert draws to the country, therefore we view the concert as yet another golden opportunity to showcase Namibian hospitality, warmth and talent.”

Concert organiser Wolfgang Hildebrandt said he was excited about the concert and everybody wants to come on board.

“Every day we receive emails from Namibian artists wanting to take part in the concert, and we will be recording a theme song for the concert with the Namibian traditional group Ongombe, who will be flying to Los Angeles for the recordings,”

he said.

Beyonce is listed under the performers on Rock on TV to perform at Elvis: Viva Las Vegas! There’s even a recently-released quote from her about how she feels about Elvis! I hope she does it!

“When you think of Elvis, and when you think of sparkle, and you think of show business, you think of flash, you think of those performances,”

says Beyoncé Knowles.

“And I think still, to this day, modern performers look to that to get a lot of inspiration.”

But if Knowles could bottle up any aroma in the world, “it would be my mom’s food,” she says. “When I walk into her house in Houston, it’s the most comforting smell. It makes me feel like a kid again. I can’t cook. My mom makes really good gumbo — we’re Creole. And she makes really good soul food. Yams, they smell so good.”

Earlier Thursday, Knowles was mobbed by lines of fans at a meet-and-greet in the Macy’s beauty department. She treated each fan, middle-aged women to tween girls, like a long-lost best friend. It’s a lesson she learned from Will Smith during a signing with him for the Men in Black soundtrack when she was 15.

“He was so nice to every person. I watched him. I knew he had to be tired, and I couldn’t believe how nice he was,” she says.

She plans on releasing a new album next summer, and then she will throw herself back into a movie role, preferably “something a little darker, but still a musical.” Adds the Dreamgirls star: “That’s my niche. I’m able to connect the drama with the music.”

Aida is a musical drama in two acts based on Giuseppe Verdi’s Italian-language opera by the same name, which is in turn based on a story by Auguste Mariette. The musical was produced by Hyperion Theatricals, a unit within Disney Theatrical, with music by Elton John, lyrics by Tim Rice, and book by Linda Woolverton, Robert Falls, and David Henry Hwang.

The Mouse is reportedly already in talks with this pop diva, trying to convince Ms. Knowles to make ‘Aida’ her follow-up project to ‘Dreamgirls,’� says the site, adding, “Starring in the movie version of this Tony Award-winning musical should be a no-brainer for Beyoncé. Particularly since the show’s title role has proven to be such an effective showcase for chart toppers like Toni Braxton and Ms. Knowles’ fellow ‘Destiny’s Child’ survivor, Michelle T. Williams.

In the story, a Nubian princess is captured by an Egyptian captain, Radames. He soon falls in love with her and saves her from a life of hard labor and instead gives her as a handmaiden to the Egyptian princess Amneris, his future bride. Set against a backdrop of loyalty, betrayal, and forbidden love, Aida is the story of three people who are forced to make difficult choices that will alter history forever.

According to dancer Tyrell Washington, Beyoncé will be performing “Get Me Bodied� at Tuesday’s BET Awards. Washington will be dancing with B and her crew at the awards. R&B Singer, Beyonce Knowles, left a fan heartbroken, when she refused to sign a portrait of herself that took him well over 80 hours to paint.

Artist Paul Stillwell, who took to painting to deal with his mum’s death, had painted the ‘Destiny’s Child’ star in the cover of her ‘Dangerously in Love’ album.

Stilwell wanted to get the singer’s autograph on his work and he traveled all the way to London to meet her, when she visited the country for her Wembley concert.

“I traveled 100 miles to London and waited outside her hotel for five hours. … When she came out I showed her my painting and said, ‘Beyoncé, will you sign my painting?’ She said, ‘No, sorry,’ and walked away,â€? the New York Daily News quoted him, as saying.

The artist said that he was ‘devastated’, when the 25-year-old walked away without even considering his request.

He added that it took him more than three days to make the portrait and Beyonce did not even want to spare 2 seconds to sign on it.

“I was devastated, as the painting took me over 80 hours to paint and I had put my whole heart and soul into it. I was shocked that she wouldn’t take two seconds of her time to sign her name on it,” he added.

Sounds to me like someone has a lot of time on their hands. In all honesty- he couldnt expect for Beyonce to autograph his painting by just waiting outside her hotel. Beyonce (like any other person) is a busy woman and cannot always sign everyone’s autograph. Man these European tabloids and blogs can be quite harsh.

Rumor is that…. Jay-Z reportedly proposed last week during a holiday in Cannes - and Beyoncé said yes. She said:

There’s a rumor going around that Beyonce will be performing at the ‘07 BET Awards. I think that it IS possible seeing as she has no tour dates for the date of the awards, plus I don’t think that she’d NOT show up to an Award Show she’s been present to for so many times and being nominated so much this year! Also rumored to perform are Lil’ Mama, Mya F/ Lil’ Wayne, T-Pain & Young Joc, Lloyd, Diddy F/ Keyshia Cole, Robin Thicke, KELLY ROWLAND, Rihanna F/ Jay-Z, and MUCH more! Hopefully it is true because I’d love to see all of the people rumored to perform!
