Beyonce On Wedding Pictures Offers: ‘Ridiculous!’

Beyonce insists she would have never considered selling photos of her hush-hush wedding to Jay-Z to a glossy celebrity magazine. Still, the singer acknowledges that she was amazed at the amount of money that was offered.

“Now, they offer crazy money that’s just ridiculous,” she said in a recent interview, laughing. “But in the end, absolutely not. It’s so not worth it. If anything, if you wanna put something out, then put it out, not for (money).”

Beyonce and Jay-Z were married in April in an intimate ceremony in New York City.

“We worked really hard at keeping it private,” she said. “I’ve always been this way, and he’s always been this way, so that’s why we complement each other. We always knew that it would be private and quiet, for all the right reasons.”

Though Beyonce declined to talk about specific details, she’s been more open to acknowledging her relationship in recent interviews after years of silence about it.

She’s due to release her new CD, “I AM … SASHA FIERCE,” on Nov. 18. MySpace Music is giving listeners worldwide the first official preview of the CD on its Web site starting 3 a.m. EST Tuesday. The 27-year-old singer joins the list of other musicians who provide fans with an online preview of the CD in the days before its release.

Superstar couple BEYONCE KNOWLES and JAY-Z refused to tell the world about their marriage – because they want to keep their relationship free of “tabloid drama”.
The Crazy In Love star wed rapper Jay-Z on 4 April in New York, although neither of the newlyweds spoke out to confirm the happy news – until now.
And Knowles insists her reluctance to share details of their nuptials stems from their desire to steer clear of media scrutiny.
She says, “I don’t deny it (the wedding). I just don’t talk about it. We’ve never talked about us and it’s kind of protected our relationship. I think it’s kept us out of tabloid drama.
“A lot of actresses that have had successful relationships don’t talk about them, so neither do I.”

Peta praise Beyonce

The singer was once near the top of PETA’s ‘hitlist’ because of frequent sightings of her wearing fur coats.
A member even won an auction to have lunch with her, only to confront her with video footage showing animals being skinned for fur.
But the group has decided Knowles is now fur-free – and sent her a fake fur throw as a wedding present to mark her marriage to Jay-Z last week (ends4Apr08).
The accompanying note reads,

“From all of us at PETA, we wish you much happiness in your life together. Please accept this faux-fur throw with many good wishes and a hope from us that together, you’ll be a fur-free couple!”

PETA Vice President Lisa Lange says, “Celebrities know that the easiest way to keep PETA off their backs is by keeping fur off their backs. Time will tell if Beyonce is truly committed to being fur-free, but all indications are that she’s become a real ‘dreamgirl’ for fur-bearing animals.”

Keys commenting on Beyonce/Jay Z nuptials

Singer/songwriter ALICIA KEYS has publicly congratulated rapper JAY-Z and his new wife BEYONCE KNOWLES, who were married in a top-secret ceremony last week (ends06Apr08).
Although the couple’s representatives have yet to confirm the wedding took place, it has been reported Jay-Z, real name Shawn Carter, and Knowles exchanged vows on Friday evening (04Apr08) and then threw a lavish party at the rapper’s TriBeCa apartment in New York.
And Keys couldn’t be happier for the newlyweds.
She tells U.S. magazine OK!,

“All the best wishes possible, and I think that love is beautiful and when you love somebody, just let it shine and shine bright.”

Keys is the second star to extend warm wishes to the couple. Mary J. Blige offered her congratulations to Jay-Z, her current tourmate, at a concert on Saturday (05Apr08), before launching into her hit song You’re All I Need.

Rapper JAY-Z was spotted walking in New York City without a wedding ring on Monday (07Apr08) – just three days after he reportedly married his longtime love BEYONCE KNOWLES.
However, when a video cameraman for website TMZ.com congratulated Jay-Z on getting married, the hip-hop superstar replied, “Thanks, man.”
The couple’s representatives have yet to confirm the wedding took place.
It has been widely reported Jay-Z – real name Shawn Carter – and Knowles exchanged vows on Friday evening (04Apr08) and then threw a lavish party at the rapper’s TriBeCa apartment in New York.
Singers John Legend, Alicia Keys and Mary J. Blige and rapper Snoop Dogg have all since extended their warm wishes to the couple.

After years of speculation, singer Beyoncé Knowles wed her longtime boyfriend, rapper Jay-Z, on Friday, a friend of the couple tells PEOPLE.

Though there is no official confirmation, the friend says, “It happened earlier this evening. Jay wanted it to be a really private affair – close friends and family.”

The ceremony was followed by a lavish party at the rapper’s Tribeca apartment that drew Beyoncé’s mother Tina Knowles, her father/manager Mathew, her sister Solange, her Destiny’s Child mates Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams, and the couple’s friend Gwyneth Paltrow.

The wedding buzz began when the couple went to get a marriage license at a village hall in Scarsdale, N.Y., on Tuesday.

DJ Cassidy, a favorite of Jay-Z, was hired to spin – and the gig was no bar mitzvah. “Cassidy mentioned a week ago that he was really excited for the Jay Z and Beyoncé’s wedding party to happen,” says the friend.

Early Friday morning, workers erected a white tent atop the building in Tribeca, where Jay-Z owns a penthouse apartment. Not long after, an SUV carrying what seemed to be AV equipment arrived, followed by deliveries of party rentals and flowers.

A source tells PEOPLE that Amy’s Orchids was hired to provide 50,000 to 60,000 white orchid blooms from Thailand for a “big party.” At the apartment, waiters were seen practicing their service.

A couple since 2002, Jay-Z, 38, and Knowles, 26, always kept quiet about their relationship, even as they were photographed together on romantic holidays around the world.

Still, marriage seemed to be in the cards – eventually. “I never pictured myself as a bride,” she told Cosmopolitan in January 2006, “but after my sister’s wedding, I did start thinking about what kind of wedding I’d want. I don’t think I want a big one.”

Wedding Prep Underway?

For Beyoncé and Jay-Z, April showers brought flowers – and a possible wedding. On a rainy Friday in New York City, crews delivered floral arrangements, candelabras and a tent into Jay-Z’s Tribeca apartment building.

The wedding buzz began when the couple went to get a marriage license at a village hall in Scarsdale, N.Y., on Tuesday. “It’s [happening] tonight,” says a source. “A lot of their friends are booking hotel rooms.”

Beyoncé’s former Destiny’s Child bandmates, Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams, are also here, coyly divulging in a YouTube video that they are camped out at a Manhattan hotel, giggling about “sisters” getting together.

And of course, there’s Jay-Z, who reportedly hopped a flight from Boston, where he performed last night, to New York this morning.

Friends of the couple say they are very eager for the nuptials to happen. “It’s about time,” says producer Dallas Austin. “I think it’s great that they’re getting married.”

People magazine is reporting that, according to a source, the pair took out a license on Tuesday morning. The document is valid for 60 days. Beyonce’s rep didn’t deny the report but told People, “No comment.” Jay-Z’s spokesperson could not be reached for comment. Beyonce, 26, and Jay-Z, 38, have kept details of their romance very low-profile since they started dating back in 2002. the usually tight-lipped rapper told reporters earlier today at a press conference in Las Vegas, where he announced plans to open his third 40/40 Club at the luxury Palazzo hotel.

Would they tie the knot in Sin City?

“I don’t know,” he said. “It’s kind of comfortable here. If [Palazzo President Rob Goldstein] throws in the ring, who knows?â€?

At least they’d have somewhere to celebrate: His new $20 million, 24,000-square-foot club — slated to open December 20 — will come complete with 24-karat gold and platinum floors, 85 plasma TVs and — count ‘em! — five VIP rooms.

“Las Vegas is like no other place in the world,” he said.

In fact, he says he may even snap up digs there eventually.

“I’m going to ask [Goldstein] for advice,” Jay-Z said. “He’s pretty good with the real estate. We’ll see what happens.â€?
